On 14 January 2025, the new Board of the Association Women and Science (the Italian association of women scientists) met for the first time and elected the executive committee.

Sveva Avveduto was re-elected president, Iaia Masullo as vice-president, and Patrizia Colella as treasurer. For the first time in the association’s history, a man was elected, Nicolò Marchesini, who will serve as secretary. According to the Women and Science statute, the board is open to men, but they cannot serve as president or vice-president.

The new board, which will serve for the 2025-2027 term, was elected during the general assembly of Women and Science, held in Genoa on 10 December 2024, as part of the Annual Conference. Women and Science is a founding member association of EPWS and is represented in EPWS by Lucia Martinelli (EPWS president) and Mirella Orsi (alternate), both of whom were re-elected to the new board of Women and Science.
