STUDY ON IMPROVING EUROPEAN PROJECTS CONTENT (IN HORIZON 2020 FRAMEWORK PROGRAMME) BY INTEGRATION OF THE GENDER DIMENSION – HINTS AND TOOLS
Executive Summary
The first objective of this study is to let the Mission for Parity and Fight against Discriminations (MIPADI) of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research know whether, in other European Union (EU) Member States, researchers applying for EU projects are getting a help on the way to include a gender dimension.
Besides, MIPADI wishes to receive a synthesis of the different examples and methods for introducing gender dimension into the scientific content of research projects, as they were provided in documents emitted or funded by Directorate General (DG) Research, during Framework Programmes (FP) 5, 6 and 7.
Based on this information, examples will be proposed to applicants from France, who may need them soon as the discussions on the future FP, the so-called ‘Horizon 2020’, in particular on Article 15 of its Regulation rules, suggest that gender dimension should be introduced into the EU projects content. Now, whereas considering the gender impact seems obvious in health-related projects, it is more difficult to imagine the gender dimension in a project on global warming, nanotechnologies or particle physics… Whence the interest of reviewing published examples, even short.
