The UNESCO Gender Equality in Science team launches a new series of Thematic Action Groups under the UNESCO Call to Action “Closing the Gender Gap in Science”. The aim is to ensuring that women scientists can not only enter science, but also thrive, progress and lead within scientific institutions and systems.

UNESCO invites scientists, institutions and organizations to join an interactive online session on 22 October 2026, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM CET, focusing on women scientists in crisis and emergency contexts. The session will present UNESCO’s new global study, share experiences and good practices, and explore opportunities for collaboration and collective action.
