“From Resolution to Realisation”

The Impact of the European Parliament Resolution of 9.9.2015 on Women’s Careers in Science and University

This event is organised by the European Platform of Women Scientists EPWS  and kindly hosted by MEP Dr. Laima Andrikienė.

In 2015 the European Parliament published a Resolution on “Women’s careers in science and university.

This document began by a detailed status quo recognising the under-representation of women in particular in the sectors of science and engineering, essential for Europe competitiveness; then, to improve the situation, it proposed many actions to the Commission and the Member States such as addressing gender equality in academic positions, balancing professional and personal lives, in particular through institutional changes.

Two years later the European Platform of Women Scientists EPWS, which brings the voice of 12.000 women scientists at European Union level, wants to assess the present situation in the Resolution framework.
