University of Sofia (Bulgaria)
Dr. Ana I. Proykova, Doctor Habil, is a Full Professor for Atomic and Molecular Physics at the University of Sofia. In her professional career she has worked at universities around the world, including Belgium, Germany, Israel, Italy, the USA, Japan, SIngapore, Taiwan and in the 1980s – the USSR. She is an advisor for “Research at the Universities”, member of the National Scientific Commissions for Physics and Nanotechnology, and member of the Advisory Board for International Education and Cultural Exchange Programs (all three: Ministry of Education and Science). She is a member of four European advisory groups, namely the Horizon 2020 Future and Emerging Technologies Advisory Group (E02963), Science With and For Society’ ADVISORY GROUP, Horizon 2020 Advisory Group on Gender (E03034),H2020 Advisory Group on International Cooperation.
She is a member of the program committee on the Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials, Advanced Manufacturing and Processing, and Biotechnology, H2020. Professional memberships include:
- Union of Physicists in Bulgaria (Member of the Executive Board 2001-2005)
- European Physical Society (Member of the executive boar 2008-2012)
- International Radiation Physics Society
- Bulgarian Nuclear Physics Society
- Fulbright Association (President 1999-2002)
- IUPAP Working group on Women in Physics (Team Leader of the Bulgarian group)
