GRECO, named after the famous painter of the Spanish Renaissance, is the acronym of the H2020 project “Fostering a Next GeneRation of European Photovoltaic SoCiety through Open Science“, coordinated by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid – Solar Energy Institute.
The name is evocative of a rebirth, for the photovoltaic, to be realized putting in practice Open Science and Responsible Research and Innovation.
The Associazione Donne e Scienza (Italian Women and Science Association) supports the project in the gender dimension, one of the six dimensions of Responsible Research and Innovation. Donne e Scienza is participating to GRECO with one of its member in the Social Advisory Board (Giuliana Rubbia) and takes part to its Citizen Science initiatives.
As a first step, the GRECO project invites citizens to “be in the driver’s seat” in research on solar energy and to participate in the call for ideas:
-How can citizens participate in research activities related to solar energy?
-How can research activities on solar energy enrich citizens?
-What are the main constraints in getting citizens to adopt solar energy innovations?
