Published on 13 July 2022, the Global Gender Gap Index benchmarks the current state and evolution of gender parity across four key dimensions, namely Economic Participation and Opportunity, Educational Attainment, Health and Survival, and Political Empowerment. The Global Gender Gap Index benchmarks 146 countries, providing a basis for robust cross-country analysis. The cross-country comparisons aim to support the identification of the most effective policies to close gender gaps. This sixteenth edition of the report also provides new data on emerging trends in the labour market and society more widely.

The Gender parity is not recovering, according to the Global Gender Gap Report 2022, and urgent collective, coordinated and comprehensive action will be needed to create sustained improvements and halt the risks of reversals.
