The 2023 Women20 Summit took place in Mahabalipuram, Tamil, India, 14-15 June 2023.
The 2023 Women20 Summit, the conclusive meeting of Women20, the engagement group of G20 on Gender Equality, took place in Mahabalipuram, Tamil (India) on 14-15 June 2023, following the Inception Meeting in Aurangabad (India) on 27-28 February 2023 and the 2nd International Meeting in Jaipur (India) on 13-14- April 2023.
The sessions regarded important topics concerning the women empowerment, such as: the road to achieving the SDGs, intersecting women’s health, gender equality, and socioeconomic development; the safeguard of our planet through Women Led Climate Action; the transformation through emerging & frontier technologies-accelerating progress and bridging the gender digital divide; the actions to brake the glass ceiling; the economic empowerment through trade and investment; the investment in services and infrastructure for an enabling care economy. During a side-event, the Grassroots Women Entrepreneurs from Tamil Nadu illustrated their success stories, which have been facilitated by the National Rural Livelihood Mission, Ministry of Rural Development, GOI, & Tamil Nadu.
The Italian delegation included Sveva Avveduto, President of Donne e Scienza, the Italian Women in Science Association, a full member of EPWS and Gianna Avellis, Chair of ItalianRSA and vice chair of ICoRSA.
