The 2024 networking event of the WFWS was organized by Women In Science Without Borders and Traces&Dreams, in collaboration with Fondazione Musica per Roma / Festival delle Scienze, and it took place in Rome, Italy, 19 April 2024.

According to the event title “Envisioning Tomorrow – Science for the SDGs and New Partnerships for Sustainable Futures”, focus was the role of the scientific community – and in particular of women scientists – in facing the challenges to foster peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future, according to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDG). Speakers presented their activities in the fields of science (health, climate change and environment), education, and policies for inequality reduction and economic growth.

In the session “Networks and Collaborations”, EPWS President Lucia Martinelli presented the role of EPWS in building up networks as strategic asset for cultural transformation, societal change, and collective innovation. Sveva Avveduto (President of Donne e Scienza, the Italian Women in Science Association, a full member of EPWS) chaired the session “Women in Science. Challenges and Opportunities”.
