Founded in 2001, AMIT aims at promoting the publication of gender disaggregated statistics in the fields of gender and development, reinforcing compliance with recommendations to promote gender equality in science, raising awareness on the issue of unequal opportunities of women in science and at providing a network for interaction among women scientists.
