Junior Group Leader – IRB Barcelona

 

The Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) invites applications from outstanding young investigators for a tenure track Junior Group Leader position. IRB Barcelona (www.irbbarcelona.org) is a multidisciplinary institute where scientists address challenging and pressing biomedical problems in a collaborative fashion in order to provide groundbreaking solutions to unmet medical needs.

The institute currently has more than 430 members from all over the world, including 27 groups organised around three research programmes, namely Cancer Science, Aging and Metabolism, and Mechanisms of Disease, which seek to decipher how diseases develop and find new ways to diagnose, prevent and treat them. The successful candidate is expected to develop cutting-edge, disease-oriented, multidisciplinary research, from mechanisms to preclinical approaches, with a focus on the areas of aging, cancer and metabolism or the transversal fields of inflammation and immunology. He/she will be provided with laboratory space, a start-up package, running costs and access to state-of-the-art facilities (listed at irbbarcelona.org). In addition, he/she will be able to take part in IRB Barcelona’s new Group Leader Mentoring Programme. IRB Barcelona strives to provide a supportive and international working environment.
