Regionale Studien seeks to hire a
Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Social Sciences,
The successful candidate:
– will contribute to the NOPOOR project on “Enhancing Knowledge for Renewed Policies
against Poverty” funded under the 7th framework programme of the European Union.
– will investigate the political economy of poverty reduction policies, more specifically the
relationships between regime types, poverty reduction policies, and poverty and inequality
outcomes.
– may contribute to other tasks of the NOPOOR work programme (e.g., to studying social
networks and informality).
Desired qualifications:
– Doctorate in Development Economics or Development Studies or Political Science
– Strong background in empirical Development Economics / Development Studies / Political
Economy / Political Sociology with research experience in developing countries
– Advanced knowledge of empirical methods in social sciences (in particular quantitative
methods, survey data analysis, poverty and inequality analysis, econometrics)
