Hellenic Association of University Women, Greece
Evi Batra is the elected President of the Hellenic Association of University Women – SEE (2006-). She studied electrical engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and holds a PhD in Occupational Health and Safety from the same university.
Evi Batra worked as a supervisor Engineer by a large construction company and consultant for Engineers’ Labour Issues and Occupational Health and Safety issues at the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE). She was a Lecturer in the Department of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law of NTUA (2001-2006) and a Scientific Associate at the Technical Educational Institute of Athens (2004-2007). Since 2005 she is a Tutor at the Hellenic Open University and since 2006 a Lecturer in the Department of Production and Management Engineering of the Democritus University of Thrace.
Her scientific interests are statistical analysis of occupational accidents, gender dimension in various spheres and workers’ participation in the decision making process with numerous articles published in international scientific journals and conferences.
Evi Batra is the elected President the Federation of Balkan Non Governmental Organisations – FEBANGO (2008-), the Organisational Secretary of the Hellenic-African Chamber of Commerce and Development (2005-2008) and a Member of the Governing Board of The Society for Thessaly Studies (2004-2006). She is also a Member of the Guidance Committee of “PERIKTIONI” Network of the Greek General Secretariat of Research and Technology for the advancement of women in research and technology.
