Dr. Yvonne Pourrat, ECEPIE, Paris (France)

 

Dr. Yvonne Pourrat is graduated in Agronomy Engineering and obtained her Doctorate in Plant Physiology (University of Paris VI). She worked in CNRS and at the University of Paris XI (Orsay) as scientific researcher specialist in physiology and biotechnology of plants under abiotic stress. She has numerous publications in this field. She serves as expert for international institutions: IICA, UNESCO and EC. She has coordinated EU projects (4th , 5th, 6th and 7th Framework Programmes -FP) and international networks.

In the field of gender equality in scientific careers, she has coordinated the project WOMENG: “Creating culture for success of women engineers” (5th FP, including 7 partners), PROMETEA: “Empowering women engineers in industrial and academic research” (6th FP, including 18 partners). She was Work Package leader in the project HELENA: “Higher education leading to engineering and scientific careers” (7th FP) and European Affairs Coordinator of the CDEFI (French Engineering Schools and Technics Universities) consultative body of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

Currently she is working for ECEPIE, member of EPWS, as senior project manager and she coordinates the 7th FP project GenderTIME: Transfering, Implementing, Monitoring Equality (10 partners). At national level Yvonne Pourrat leads a network of institutions about gender equality in research and academia.
