The Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt, Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, invites applications to fill the position of:
Professorship (W3) for Green IT within the Institute of Computer Science.
We are seeking a candidate widely recognized for excellent research on Green IT, with specific foci on simulation and modeling or efficient algorithms in high-performance computing, who represents this field in research and teaching and complements the current team. The position implies heading the Frankfurt Center for Scientific Computing (CSC).
The candidate is expected to have a high-level, internationally recognized publication record in high-performance computing, simulation and modelling or efficient algorithms, Green IT including applications in the natural and life sciences.
We expect the candidate to have finished an above average doctorate and to possess a high-level teaching record and to establish collaborations with other professors in multi-disciplinary alliances. Experiences in interdisciplinary and/or international collaborations and active acquisition of third-party support are expected. The successful applicant is expected to establish scientific networks within CSC, the Institute of Computer Science, the Department, and Goethe University. We are looking for a dedicated academic teacher who will be actively involved in our graduate and undergraduate programs, particularly in the basic training in the field of computer engineering. The candidate is furthermore expected to appropriately engage within academic self-administration.
