Food for thought: a role of diet in cancer

On the “International Women’s Day”, the Pezcoller Foundation and MUSE present the theme of women in scientific research with a conversation between Karen Vousden, a scientist at the Cancer Research UK and Head of the Laboratory at the Francis Crick Institute in London, and Francesca Lorenzin, a researcher at the CIBIO Department at Trento University. The focus is on the very topical theme of the fundamental relationship between diet and health, with special reference to cancer.

The event will be moderated by Lucia Martinelli, senior researcher at MUSE and president of the European Platform of Women Scientists – EPWS

Karen Vousden is the winner of the first Pezcoller-Marina Larcher Fogazzaro-EACR Women in Cancer Research Award, which celebrates a cancer researcher who has demonstrated academic excellence and achievements and who has, through leadership or by example, furthered the advancement of women in cancer research.
This meeting aims at stimulating young women to undertake the path of scientific research and reviving the enthusiasm for this exciting and not often easy career in female scientists.
