The FEBS/EMBO Women in Science Award highlights the major contributions of female scientists to life sciences research. Each year the exceptional achievements of one woman working in the life sciences in Europe are rewarded. The winner receives a cheque for 10,000 euro during the award ceremony held at the annual FEBS Congress where she is invited to present a plenary lecture.
Previous winners were bioinformatician Naama Barkai (2008) and structural biologist Anne Houdusse (2009).
