To promote women’s leadershipin the broad field of urban ecology and sustainable living, EPFL’s School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering(ENAC), with the support of La Mobilière Insurance, seeks to hire an outstanding woman as a tenure-track assistant professor or, in exceptional cases, at the associate or full professor level, for a faculty position in this field.
The candidate should embody a holistic vision of urban ecology and/or urban ecosystem services from one or more of a range of approaches including but not limited to: monitoring and bottom-up modeling methods for the environment (e.g. with reference to human mobility and urban micro-climate); urban metabolism and energy/material flow analyses; urban ecology, food urbanism; urban and landscape design; city growth mechanisms and environmental impacts; public spaces and urban well-being. The candidate should be able to conduct project-oriented teaching that links the natural, the built and the social environments towards sustainable urban living systems, at different scales.
The successful candidate will have the potential to develop an innovative and internationally recognized research program leading to an outstanding record of scientific accomplishments.
As a faculty member of the ENAC School, she will excel in undergraduate and graduate teaching and supervise doctoral students.
