The COST action “Making Young Researchers’ Voices Heard for Gender Equality” (VOICES) (running from 20/10/2021 to 19/10/2025) is aligned with the European political agenda regarding gender equality in research. The main aim is to increase visibility of inequalities faced by Young Researchers and Innovators (YRIs) from a gender perspective and to promote a sustainable dialogue between YRIs and stakeholders in the research ecosystem at European, national and institutional levels. To realize this, the Action will create a community of gender equality practitioners composed of various stakeholders across Europe and beyond. Six working groups are focusing crucial aspects, namely: “Employment, career development, and mobilities”; “Leadership & decision-making”; “Gender as a research dimension”; “Sexual harassment, gender-based violence & institutional culture”; “Intersectionality”; “Monitoring & evaluation”.
EPWS participates in VOICES with the involvement of its President Lucia Martinelli (member of the VOICES Management Committee), its Vice President Colette Guillopé (EPWS representative in VOICES and Grant Awarding Co-Coordinator of this Action) and its BoA member Dalia Šatkovskienė (member of the Management Committee and Grant Awarding Coordinator of VOICES).
The 1st 2022 Annual Meeting, co-organized by Vilnius University and BASNET Forumas took place at the University of Vilnius, Lithuania, from 8 to 10 June 2022 in mixed modality, with people both in person and virtually.
