From 13 to 17 February 2023, the University of Malta hosted the COST Action VOICES (“Making Young Researchers’ Voices Heard for Gender Equality”). The organization, achievements and future planes were discussed at the meetings of the Management Committee, the Core Group, and the 6 Working Groups (namely: “Employment, Career Development & Mobilities”; “Leadership & Decision-Making”; “Gender as a Research Dimension”; “Sexual Harassment, Gender-Based Violence & Institutional Culture”; “Intersectionality”; “Monitoring & Evaluation”).
The 2023 annual conference focused on the topic “Voicing young researchers for the future of Europe: Trends, challenges, and policies”. In 9 parallel sessions, papers were presented on various aspects of the inequalities faced by Young Researchers and Innovators (YRIs) from a gender perspective and the possible actions to promote a sustainable dialogue between YRIs and stakeholders in the research ecosystem at European, national, and institutional levels.
EPWS was represented by its President Lucia Martinelli (member of the VOICES Management Committee), its Vice President Colette Guillopé (EPWS representative in VOICES, member of the Management Committee and Grant Awarding Co-Coordinator) and its Board of Administration member Dalia Šatkovskienė (member of the Management Committee and Grant Awarding Coordinator of VOICES).
