EPWS at the International Symposium on Education and Gender Equality

This event was co-organised by the French Consulate in Boston, Wellesley (girls) College and Sciences Po (politiques) Paris. The speakers were from France, French-speaking Africa and of course the United States. This allowed fruitful comparisons between very different countries. Several former women ministers from Senegal and France gave brilliant talks.

Prof. Claudine Hermann, EPWS President, spoke in the session “Gender bias in science ?” and after a short presentation of her career she described the actions in favour of women scientists of EPWS and the French association Femmes & Sciences.

Very fruitful contacts could be taken and the EPWS interviews booklet is now in the libraries of the French Embassy in Washington and the French Consulate in Boston.
