Conclusions concerning various issues related to the development of the European Research Area
“The Council of the European Union reiterated support to women in European science and technology in the conclusions of the Competitiveness Council, 26 May 2010. While acknowledging the work undertaken by the European Commission and the need to initiate a cultural and structural change in universities and research organisations, the Council highlights in particular the inclusion of gender issues in research as a resource to create new knowledge and stimulate innovation.
The emphasis is put on the objective of improving the effectiveness and impact of research, and barriers to gender equality as regards learning, employment and career progress in particular in the field of science and technology.”
