On April 4-5 2016, BASNET, as local organizer, hosted the COST project genderSTE Capacity building Symposium for policy makers entitled “Implementing Gender Equality Policy in European Research and Innovation“. The workshop attracted more than 40 high-level executives and administrators from Baltic States universities and research institutes, science governing, regulating and funding organizations (ministries, research councils and funding agencies).
Talks were given by genderSTE project leader Prof. Ines Sanchez de Madariaga (Technical University of Madrid, Spain), Dr. Roberta Schaller-Steidl (Ministry of Science, Research and Economy, Austria), Prof. Uduak Archibong (University of Bradford, U.K.), Ms. Barbara Limanowska (European Institute for Gender Equality), Prof. Gustav Amberg (KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden), among others. During the Symposium a press release was developed, to be translated and presented on the internet sites of the participating organizations.
