Call for Papers to the IV International Scientific Conference on Women in Science entitled „Woman – home, public sphere and science”, which will be held on the 4-5 April 2017 at the Institute of Sociology at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw.

The conference is organized by Team for Best Practices, Institute of Sociology at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw and Warsaw Section of Polish Sociological Association.

The aim of the fourth of annual conference entitled „Women in science” is to continue the discussion of scientists, representatives of various disciplines, organization and actors involved and interested in issues related to the wider presence of women in public space and other spheres of life. During the interdisciplinary conference we would like to look at various aspects of women’s everyday life, interrupting their professional career to perform household duties, their economic activity, issues connected with work-life balance and the possible ways of counteracting such phenomena. We also want to devote considerable attention to the situation of women’s position in public and private sphere.

We invite researchers representing various academic disciplines: sociology, anthropology, psychology, history, politics, philosophy, economics, law, migration studies, consciousness studies, and representatives of other sciences interested in the subject.

Abstracts in Polish or English should be sent no later than 28 February 2017 to email address: womeninsciencezdsdp@gmail.com. They should not exceed 500 words.

Confirmation of acceptance will be sent by 11 March 2017.

The official language of the conference will be Polish and English.

We aim to publish the conference proceedings in a special volume. The final decision about publication will depend on achieving a positive review.
