On 24 October 2023, EIGE published the 2023 edition of the Gender Equality Index for the European Union (EU). This year’s thematic focus analyses Europe’s ambition to become the first carbon neutral continent, drawing attention to the transport and energy sectors. Good news: this index has surpassed 70 points for the first time, showing a growth of 1.6 points since 2022. The increase in the overall EU score is the highest year-on-year rise since the first edition of the Index in 2013.
